Beauty with brain

Photography is always fun . This pretty lass tried to hide her face behind a red cardboard when I asked: Miss, may I take your photos? She couldn't hide for long because all her male and female colleagues were supporting me to take her photos. So she finally consented to show her face and greeted us with big hearty smiles. She is a temporary promoter of health and engergy drinks and will be leaving to further her studies in electrical engineering soon.

Major powerboat race coming up in Sibu

A F-16 fighter jet has landed in Sibu? It certainly bears several striking similarities to the awful American multirole jet fighter aircraft, especially if you see it from the front.

Well, peaceful Sibu doesn't need such war machine, not even Malaysia. This piece of "toy" is owned by the Edmund Racing Team, specially designed and built by David Burgess of England. If you are a powerboat enthusiast or fan, you should know the Linggi families who are the pioneer in this very exciting water sport. The Linggis are descendants of the great Iban Paramount Chief, Tun Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Temenggong Jugah anak Barieng of Kapit.(http://www.tunjugahfoundation.org.my/) Both of Tun Jugah's sons, Datuk Amar (Dr) Leonard Linggi Jugah and Edmund Jugah are staunch supporter and promoter of the powerboat racing in Sarawak since 1963.

Mc Events is owned and ran by a son of Edmund Jugah. It is one of the organizers of the Borneo Cultural Festival (BCF). Mc Events has a booth at the BCF's trade exhibition area (BCF Tradex) located next to the stage at Sibu Town Square. The F-16 look-alike powerboat is the sole exhibit displayed at the booth.

According to Ms Mary Ngu, the spokesperson for Mc Events, this RM150,000 boat belongs to the SST60 class or the F4 category. The 17-feet boat is made of Kevlar-carbon fibre, the same material used in manufacturing bullet proof vest. With a 60 hp outboard engine, the boat has a top speed of 90 mph. The Edmund Racing team owns a total of 6 world class powerboats. The biggest is a 20 footer.Mc Events is currently in the process of organizing a F4 powerboat race called "The Borneo Cup". The races are planned to start off in Sibu, Sarawak and end in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Racing circuits will surely include the Rajang River and Igan River. It is anticipated that this up coming major water sport event will put Sibu and Sarawak prominently on the world's tourism map.

Girls vs boys

They present me a great opportunity to photograph the big difference between boys and girls, male and female. Isn't it the true fact that girls are so much more gentle, charming, soft and feminine then boys who are born to be more naughty, rough, tough and masculine? Of course there are many exceptions where girls behave like men and vice versa. And there is no denial that lots of women out perform men in all kinds of endeavours. No offence to women, I always respect them.
