Serikin--Sarawak border town with Kalimantan Indonesia

I have heard about Serikin, the small border town with Kalimantan Indonesia near Kuching long ago. Thanks to my friend Steve Ling who went with me to this interesting town on a photo hunting trip last month. The town is actually only two long rows of hawker stalls along the road leading from Sarawak to Indonesia. The stalls are open for business for both Malaysian and Indonesian hawkers on weekends. Things here are much cheaper than in the city centre and you can buy almost anything from Indonesian made curtains to rattan chairs, fashionable hats, clothings, handicrafts, cooking utensils, herbal medicines, jewelleries, perfume, fruits and vegetables ...the list goes on and on and on. Serikin is an easy one hour drive from Kuching City.
